As a command line (vim, zsh, etc.) user, Cathode lets me use my iPad to do real work.
I keep my computer running as a server and use Cathode to SSH into it. With some help from Dropbox, Cathode lets me use my iPad Pro 9.7" as my only computing device. I have so far written a bunch of code in Cathode with the Smart Keyboard, and havent had too many problems. I like the retro look. Ive toned it down a lot, leaving only some glow, burn-in, and scanlines, and it is very pretty.
I have a few minor annoyances.
1. Smart Keyboard support isnt perfect. For example, Cathode sometimes captures all the keyboards inputs when I leave the app, leaving me unable to use the keyboard in other apps. I have to restart my iPad to fix this.
2. I wish the color options were more comprehensive. Ideally, I would want to be able to import an iTerm theme and use those colors.
I again stress that these are minor annoyances. This is an incredibly useful app.
